Thank You to all of our incredible RiverSweep Volunteers and Sponsors!

Picture
Thank you to the 200 adult and youth volunteers that helped clean and improve Denver parks along the South Platte River on Saturday, September 27th!

The Greenway Foundation teams up twice yearly at this semiannual event with CH2M Hill, Denver Parks + Recreation, and many other sponsors and volunteer groups to make a difference in Denver!

This year, our amazing volunteers: planted 125 plants, thinned two cubic yards of coyote willows, removed nine cubic yards of kochia, collected ten yards of plant debris, spread 34 yards of mulch, collected five yards of leaves collected, collected 24 yards of willow branches, collected 20 bags of trash, and painted nine trees with beaver paint. And much more!!

Panning on the Platte 2014

On Saturday, September 6th the Greenway SPREE team joined forces with Gold Unlimited to teach kids and families how to pan for gold in the South Platte River! We had a great time at Grant Frontier park prospecting for gold, exploring the Montana City ghost town, sewing treasure pouches, and having lunch! Each child got to take home any gold they found, a vial to keep it in, and their very own gold pan! Thanks Gold Unlimited!
Photos from the event can be found on our photobucket page.

Stay tuned for our fall 2015 event date!
