This week of summer camp was our outdoor adventures theme!
Monday had the kids focused on teambuilidng and survival skills. We played games, had team challenges, and explored the creek/river! The campers also learned to make many different types of emergency signals, in addition to making a custom water bottle koozy!
Tuesday we went on a mini nature hike and explored many plants and animals along the creek and river in Denver. We cooled off with water games and more in-water exploration, and wrapped up our day with writing postcards to send home!
Wednesday had the campers focused on the outdoor adventure of camping! We practiced setting up tents, made natural shelters, and did some campfire skits! We also got to bring our creative side to camping we made our own paracord survival bracelets!
"Leave no Trace" was Thursday's theme. We learned more about how we impact our environment when we recreate outdoors, and learned how we can minimize out impacts on nature so many people can keep enjoying it for a long time. Learn more about the seven Leave No Trace principles here.
Friday was all about more fun and recreation outside! We played many games like frisbee golf, and even got to go on a mini rafting trip!
