Cherry Creek Corridor Trail Improvements
Construction of the Cherry Creek Corridor Trail improvements along the Cherry Creek Greenway between Oneida St. and Holly St. have been completed and this long awaited section of new multi-use trail is open and is already being actively used.
This much needed project begins at the existing pedestrian bridge along the south side of the Creek adjacent to the Cook Park Recreation Center, pas under Monaco Parkway, and travel along the open space corridor on the south side of Cherry Creek between Monaco Parkway and Holly St. The trail then utilizes a low water crossing to travel across the bed of Cherry Creek to the north bank of the Creek, pas under the new Holly St. bridge and connect to the existing trail west of Holly St. The new 1.25 miles of 10’ wide concrete trail and underpasses eliminate five at grade street crossings thereby creating a much safe experience for trail users.
The design and construction oversight of the Cherry Creek Corridor improvements were in the experienced and talented hands of the Architerra Group and American Civil Constructors were selected as the general contractor for the project.
Funding for these exciting improvement to the Cherry Creek Corridor were provided by Great Outdoors Colorado, the City and County of Denver, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and the Greenway Preservation Trust.
