Engagement Programs
Over the course of its 41-year history, The Greenway Foundation has introduced tens of thousands of children to the South Platte River through its SPREE program (South Platte River Environmental Education). SPREE aims to develop a positive relationship between the South Platte River and Denver area citizens through school excursions, weekend events, and summer camps. For more information, visit the SPREE website.
The Greenway Foundation also runs a youth employment program, The Greenway River Ranger Internship Program. The River Ranger program is designed for high school students to explore possibilities in the environmental field through training, hands-on teaching experience and outdoor adventure. These students will develop leadership, strong communication, and critical thinking skills that will serve as powerful tools for their future. For more information, visit the Youth Leadership website.
