300 lbs of Glass Recycled!
October 23, 2017 Last winter, The Greenway Foundation helped get a Clear Intentions glass recycling station installed at Johnson Habitat Park. Since then, 300 pounds of glass have been collected there and saved from ending up in a landfill! |
GLC Trail Work with WRV
October 17th, 2017 This past Saturday, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) teamed up with the GLC for a fun morning of trail work in Eldorado Canyon. Fall RiverSweeps 2017
September 28th, 2017 Over 150 people braved the cold, wet morning to join us for our RiverSweep Events on September 23rd! River Ranger Internship Kicks Off

SPREE Family Camp Out
July 30, 2017 Students from SPREE summer camp and their families came to camp at Johnson Habitat Park last weekend. We had a great time exploring the park and the river, listening to a talk from a Denver Park Ranger, cooking dinner over the fire pit, roasting s'mores, and sleeping under the stars. The rainy evening didn't stop these hearty families from having a blast! |

Rafting on the Arkansas
June 20th, 2017 This past weekend, the GLC and River Rangers went white water rafting along the Arkansas River. This section of the Arkansas River boasts class II-III+ whitewater rapids, and we got to experience it all at high water. Progress toward the Environmental Pool Pledge Drive! April 25, 2017
The pledge drive, announced last August, will add 500 acre-feet of environmental storage at Chatfield Reservoir through a community coalition. Denver Water has committed nearly $2 million to fund the purchase of 250 acre-feet of storage space in Chatfield — if The Greenway Foundation can raise the funds necessary to match that amount. |
Ranger Teaching Day

Fall Camps Get Kids Out to The South Platte River

In October, SPREE held two days of programming at Johnson-Habitat Park with the focus on nocturnal animals. River Ranger Internship Kicks Off
October 28, 2016 This past Monday, our new cohort of High School River Rangers had their first teaching day! A class of 5th grades came to Overland Pond Park, and River Rangers taught activities about water testing, beaver adaptations, pollution in the city, and rafting. April 14, 2016 In partnership with Publication Printer, The Greenway Foundation is working to reduce our environmental impact when printing. PrintReleaf calculates the trees consumed by our printing projects and “releafs” by planting trees in certified forests around the world. The process is fully audited and, coupled with Publication Printers’ existing sustainability efforts, actually adds trees to the world! |
