Greenway River Ranger Program
Inspiring young leaders through environmental education.
The Greenway River Ranger Internship Program is designed for high school students to explore possibilities in the environmental field through training, hands-on teaching experience, and outdoor adventure. Students will develop leadership, strong communication, and critical thinking skills that will serve as powerful tools for their future.
The Greenway River Ranger Internship program is offered at select schools in Denver. Interns will attend an environmental educator training day, teach activities for fifth grade classes on environmental education field trips, participate in professional development and team building workshops and learn more about environmental careers.
|
Interns have the opportunity to apply for a paid summer position as a Greenway River Ranger where they will teach at SPREE's Adventures Outside Summer Camp, go on outdoor adventures, give back through service projects and submit a portfolio to become certified as an environmental educator through the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE).
|
Leaders-in-Training (LIT) is SPREE's middle school program for returning camp attendees. Over the summer, students in/entering 6th grade through in/entering 9th grade in the fall will have the opportunity to be helpers and young leaders at camp.
