Leaders In Training

SPREE's Leaders in Training (LIT) program is for middle school aged previous campers who have aged out of our camp program, but want to stay involved. Our LITs are given leadership opportunities in our Camp programs through assisting teachers, teaching lessons, and being a buddy to younger campers. If you have a middle schooler who still wants to be involved with SPREE.... sign up to be a LIT at our School Break Camp programs, or apply for our competitive Summer Camp program.

Responsibilities: 
Leaders in Training will be assistants to the teachers. Their responsibilities will include:
  • Leading by example with enthusiasm
  • Free-time monitor
  • Assisting teachers during lessons
  • Planning and leading theme/dress up days
  • Buddy to younger campers
Requirements: 
  • Have attended past SPREE Day Camps 
  • Positive and hard-working attitude
  • Desire to work with and assist teachers
  • Desire to help and buddy with younger camp attendees
  • Currently in 6th-9th grade
  • Must apply for a position and be approved by the SPREE staff 
  • Attend selected days of camp from at least 9AM-  2:30PM. 

2021 Summer Camp

Who: Entering 6-9th grade previous SPREE Campers
Cost: $230/LIT/week. Aftercare: $50/LIT/week

Days & Times: *Please take note of the time change for 2021 Summer Camp*
We offer week-long day camps. Camps run Monday through Friday from
June 7th through August 20th, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that
2:30 - 5:00 PM will require an additional aftercare fee. 
   
​        8:00AM - 9:00 AM Flexible drop-off time, free explore and craft time
        9:00 AM - 1:30 PM Planned activities.
​                                           LITs are "on duty" assisting teachers & campers
​ 
       1:30 PM - 2:30 PM Flexible pick-up time, free explore and craft time
        2:30 PM - 5:00 PM Aftercare: free explore and craft time

​Registration Notes
  • Because of the competitive nature of the LIT program, all participants that did not keep 2020 CampDoc credits on their account must fill out an application.
  • If you did keep your 2020 Summer Camp tuition on your CampDoc account, you will receive further instructions on registering this summer.
  • Applications will open on this website on January 18th
  • Applications are processed in order they are received. LIT applicants that are active FrOG donors will receive priority placement, and all others are placed by the order their application was received.
  • We have expanded capacity in 2021 to allow for more participants to join, and will accept 2-3 LITs for each week of camp
