Leaders In Training

SPREE's Leaders in Training (LIT) program is for middle school aged previous campers who have aged out of our camp program, but want to stay involved. Our LITs are given leadership opportunities in our Camp programs through assisting teachers, teaching lessons, and being a buddy to younger campers. If you have a middle schooler who still wants to be involved with SPREE.... sign up to be a LIT at our School Break Camp programs, or apply for our competitive Summer Camp program.
Responsibilities: 
Leaders in Training will be assistants to the teachers. Their responsibilities will include:
  • Leading by example with enthusiasm
  • Free-time monitor
  • Assisting teachers during lessons
  • Planning and leading theme/dress up days
  • Buddy to younger campers
Requirements: 
  • Have attended past SPREE Day Camps 
  • Positive and hard-working attitude
  • Desire to work with and assist teachers
  • Desire to help and buddy with younger camp attendees
  • Entering 6th- entering 9th grade
  • Must apply for a position and be approved by the SPREE staff 
  • Attend selected days of camp from at least 9:30AM-  3:00PM.

The LIT program is FULL at this time. By submitting an application, you will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if a spot becomes available.
*Once your application for Summer Camp is submitted and accepted, you will receive an email from camp@greenwayfoundation.org with registration information.  FrOG LIT applications will receive
 priority registration. Emails regarding priority registration for FrOG LITs will be sent starting January 17th. All other LITs will begin receiving registration information starting January 21st.

Spring Break 2022

SPREE Mad Scientists | March 28th- April 1st
 Each day campers will explore new fields of science and how they relate to our South Platte River through experiments, lessons, crafts, games, and so much more. ​

Cost: $250 (in need of a scholarship?)
           After Care: $65 (must be purchased prior to our camp day)​
Where:  SPREE HQ at Johnson Habitat Park 
                610 South Jason St, Denver 80223
Grades Accepted: current 6th graders- 8th graders
​Time: 8:30am-3:00pm

           After Care: 4:00pm-5:30pm (must be purchased prior to our camp day)
    
        8:30AM - 9:30 AM Flexible drop-off time, free explore and craft time
        9:30 AM - 3:00 PM Planned activities.
​                                           LITs are "on duty" assisting teachers & campers
​        3:00 PM - 4:00 PM 
Flexible pick-up time, free explore and craft time
        4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Aftercare: free explore and craft time

*LITs for Spring Break Camp do not require an application. LIT spots are on a first come, first served basis. Registration for Spring Break opens January 28th.

Summer Camp 2022

10 Weeks of unique themes to choose from.
 Each week will have different themes, activities, and educational guests. LITs will be required to register for a minimum 2 weeks to attend. Top 3 preferred weeks will be indicated in your LIT application. 
Applications open January 10th.​
