HIGH SCHOOL RIVER RANGERS

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

High School interns will have the opportunity to apply for a paid position working at SPREE's summer camp. Employees will gain lots of teaching experience working with elementary students, attend paid professional development workshops, complete service projects in the Denver community and gain valuable job-readiness skills.

The River Ranger position is open to high school and college students in the Denver area.  Preference will be given to students who attend KIPP Denver College High School, as The Greenway Foundation has a partnership with this school.

See open positions, learn more & apply to be a Summer High School River Ranger on our Employment page.
SPREE'S SUMMER DAY CAMP
Summer employees will work at Greenway's award-winning summer camps right in the heart of Denver. Youth employees will continue to develop their knowledge and skills and further their experience working with students. Learn more about where you'll be working as a summer High School River Ranger!

SERVICE LEARNING
In addition to working along Denver's urban waterways, youth employees will have the opportunity to take an all-expenses paid trip to one of the Nature Conservancy's nature preserves and participate in service-learning on a working ranch.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
River Rangers will learn about a range of environmental topics from experts in the field.  Guest speakers from organizations like Trout Unlimited, Denver Water, the Butterfly Pavilion, and Denver Parks and Rec will visit SPREE's summer camp to share knowledge and discuss career opportunities in environmental fields.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Research indicates that students engaged in environmental education see many benefits, academic and otherwise. As a Summer River Ranger at SPREE camp, you will participate in daily environmental education workshops to increase your proficiency in and awareness of the field. Throughout these workshops, you will build an environmental education professional portfolio to showcase all that you learn. Click here to learn more!
