Youth Professional opportunities

There are many opportunities for teens to continue work in an environmental capacity, whether it be through employment, volunteer opportunities, & more.
EMPLOYMENT

The Greenway Foundation runs a youth employment program, The Greenway River Ranger Internship Program. The River Ranger program is designed for high school students to explore possibilities in the environmental field through training, hands-on teaching experience and outdoor adventure. These students will develop leadership, strong communication, and critical thinking skills that will serve as powerful tools for their future. For more information, visit the Youth Leadership website.

Mile High Youth Corps
For more than 25 years, MHYC has been helping youth gain the knowledge, skills and motivation they need to make positive changes in their community, their own lives, and the world. Youth ages 17-24 gain work experience, technical skills and leadership training while serving their communities that will help prepare them for the next steps in their lives. MHYC helps youth make a difference in themselves and and their community through meaningful service opportunities  and educational experiences. Jobs at MHYC.

Denver's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) offers cool opportunities in retail, construction, medical, IT, manufacturing and more! If you are 15-24 years old, you can land up to 120 hours of paid work experience.

The United States Youth Conservation Corps (YCC)
is a summer youth employment program that engages young people in meaningful work experiences on national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and fish hatcheries while developing an ethic of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. YCC programs are generally 8 to 10 weeks and members are paid the minimum wage for a 40-hour work week.

Groundwork Denver has two youth teams. The Green Team is a core program of Groundwork Denver, focused on molding youth environmentalists and providing employment and professional development for low-income students in their teens and into their early twenties.
Our Blue Team investigates water quality, specifically within the Lower Bear Creek watershed. The youth collect water samples and become stewards of Bear Creek and teach their communities how to protect this          valuable natural resource.

VOLUNTEER
Colorado Young Leaders offers service and leadership opportunities for high school students.

Involve Board connects high school students to experiences they may never have known existed to foster the growth that takes place outside the walls of a classroom. This includes workshops, job opportunities, volunteer service projects, and more!

Volunteer Match is a site where nonprofit organizations post one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities.
